Microbial

Microbial is used to stimulate a plant’s inbuilt immune system, thus improving overall plant health and increased resistance to attacks from pests and diseases.

With soil based horticulture many of the bacteria present are beneficial to plants in terms of breaking down organic matter and enabling the mineral elements contained within to be readily absorbed by the plant. In a hydroponic environment these beneficial bacteria are not present, therefore the potential for problem airborne or soil borne micro-organisms attacking hydroponic crops is very high.

How to use Microbial

Microbial is a micro-cleanser and plant root zone conditioner, which cleans and rejuvenates plants. Allowing plants to naturally withstand attacks from common pests and biological contaminants like bacteria, fungi, algae and viruses.

Microbial is derived in part from naturally occurring plant extracts. Microbial is non toxic to humans, animals and plants and is totally biodegradable and environmentally friendly.

When applied at the recommended dose rates, Microbial will naturally aid plants to withstand attacks from most common pests as well as fungal and bacterial pathogen outbreaks, including fusarium, pythium, rhizoctonia, phytopthera, sclerotinia.

When added directly to plant nutrient solutions, root zone health will be improved enabling the roots to take up oxygen, nutrient and water at a faster rate.

Application Rates

Microbial has been developed to treat specific mould, mildew and algal problems in all growing environments, and when used correctly it has the added benefit of inhibiting the following plant related pest and fungal infestations.

Scarid Fly (Fungus Gnat)

• 1 Part Microbial to 2 parts water
• Apply to surface of growing media only with fine mist sprayer
• Apply weekly
• Kills on contact and repels adults for treated area
• Effective for 2 – 3 weeks

Scarid Fly (Fungus Gnat) Larvae

• 0.5 ml per 1 litre of water
• Saturate media or add to tank
• Apply weekly
• Gradual decline in larvae numbers
• Effective for 7 – 10 days

Algal Blooms

• 1 Part Microbial to 2 parts water
• Apply to surface of growing media only with fine mist sprayer
• Apply when outbreaks occur
• Kills on contact and wipe off
• Effective for 7 – 14 days

Phytophera

• 1 Part Microbial to 2 parts water
• Apply directly to leaf matter with fine mist sprayer
• Apply weekly
• Kills on contact
• Ongoing

Botrytis and Powdery Mildew

• 1 Part Microbial to 2 parts water
• Apply directly to leaf matter with fine mist sprayer
• Apply weekly
• Kills on contact
• Ongoing

Mould on trays and walls

• • 1 Part Microbial to 2 parts water
  • Spray surface with fine mist sprayer
  • Apply when outbreaks occur
  • Kills on contact and wipe off
  • Effective 1 – 3 months

Pythium

• 0.5 ml per 1 litre of water
• Saturate media or add to tank
• Apply weekly
• Gradual increase in new root growth and plant health
• Effective for 7 days
